Jerry P. Rhoads started his law practice in nearby s County in 1974, representing the United Mine Workers of America (“UMWA”) and its members in their personal injury, workers’ compensation, black lung and social security disability cases. With the association of Jerry’s brother, Tom Rhoads, in 1976, the law firm of Rhoads & Rhoads was established. In 1996, the firm opened its second office in Owensboro to better serve its clients in Ohio and Daviess Counties. This office now houses 4 experienced personal injury and disability attorneys and outstanding staff. Rhoads & Rhoads has developed a strong reputation in Ohio County and throughout western Kentucky for achieving outstanding results for injured and disabled clients.
The Rhoads family and Rhoads & Rhoads have deep roots in Ohio County. After serving in the Revolutionary War under General Peter Muhlenberg, their direct ancestor, Captain Henry Rhoads, moved from what is now Rumsey, in McLean County, to Barnett Station, now Hartford, where he resided with his family in the late 1700s. Our firm takes pride in representing the people of Ohio County.
It was Jerry’s privilege to serve from 2003 to 2014 as State Senator for the 6th District, which includes Ohio, Muhlenberg and Hopkins Counties. During his service, he had the opportunity to make many new Ohio County friends and effectively serve the people of Ohio County. The favorable impression created by Jerry’s State Senate service and the reputation of Rhoads & Rhoads for winning cases for injured and disabled clients has resulted in a strong Ohio County client base, primarily through our Owensboro office.
Rhoads & Rhoads has grown into a full-service personal injury firm and is well equipped to represent and provide legal aid to the good folks of Ohio County who may have unfortunately suffered injuries and disabilities. I actually have a farm down in Ohio County in the Pleasant Ridge area, in the Bells Run area, and we spend quite a bit of time down there. I’ve got so many close friends in Ohio county, I almost considered it home. But going down to Beaver Dam, Hartford, Fordsville, just all over the county, it’s just really a pleasure to be able to represent so many people in such a special county to us.
